The Norm Project
A conversation
The Norm Project is an interdisciplinary collective made up of Jorja Follina, Rho McGuire and Ellie Higgins. Their work travels across visual scores, writing, sound and movement. The Norm Project began with Instagram account in 2020. Used as an online gallery and interactive space, @the_norm_project soon gained a dedicated following, urging audiences to question their everyday, and find space for creativity and freedom.
Over the past four years we have created short films, photographs, collages, poems, dances and conversations which have been shared online. We have held Zoom events, featured on podcast and radio interviews and online showcase events.
Our work has involved poster art in public spaces, multidisciplinary workshops, and experimental interactive performance.
Our most recent projects have been an interactive event, PLAYSPACE, at CityMoves Dance, an interactive artist talk and phonebox exhibition at Gallery 495, Cellardyke, and a collage shown at the Word Of Mouth Exhibition (Scottish Storytelling Centre).
Initiating conversations around everyday and societal norms, our work encourages audiences to question and challenge their habits.
We offer interdisciplinary workshops, as well as PLAYSPACE, a prompt based interactive performance/workshop.
The Norm Project Instagram is our ongoing open gallery and conversation space.
